Canterlot, the capital of Equestria, is buzzing with news: Twilight Sparkle is throwing a huge Friendship Festival, and Songbird Serenade (Sia) is performing! But the festivities are cut short when Tempest Shadow (Emily Blunt) and Grubber (Michael Peña), sent by the Storm King (Liev Shrieber), overtake the city and drive away the Mane 6.

During their escape, the ponies discover Klugetown, a desert city filled with crooks far outside Canterlot. Desperate for a rest, the Mane 6 request help and meet a charming cat named Capper (Taye Diggs) who comes to their aid. The ponies’ trust, however, quickly fades when they realize Klugetown may not offer the kindness they expected.

Sea of Clouds

Soon the Mane 6 jump aboard an airship that slices through the Sea of Clouds high above Equestria. While hiding on the ship, the ponies are discovered and taken captive by Captain Celaeno (Zoe Saldana) and her gang of Pirates. Through the discovery of an unlikely friendship, the ponies sail the sea and continue on their way to save Equestria.

After a long and treacherous journey, the Mane 6 discover the mythical underwater city of Seaquestria, home to the incredible Seaponies and magical powers unlike any found in Canterlot. Queen Novo (Uzo Aduba) and her daughter Princess Skystar (Kristin Chenoweth) welcome the Mane 6 into their castle and share their ancient Seapony secrets that just might be the ticket to saving Canterlot.

The film has an all-star voice cast including Emily Blunt, Kristin Chenoweth, Liev Schreiber, Michael Peña, Sia, Taye Diggs, Uzo Aduba and Zoe Saldana.
